We are Nature & Nature is Interconnected

In Taoist philosophy, wellness is a state of harmony where mind, body, and spirit are deeply interconnected, each influencing and shaping the other.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the foods we eat nourish not only our bodies but also our energy or Qi, directly impacting the radiance of our skin and the vitality of our organs. When we consume foods that are fresh, balanced, and aligned with our body’s needs, our skin reflects that nourishment with a healthy, vibrant glow.

Our emotions, too, play a critical role in our physical health. In TCM, emotions like stress, anger, and sadness are linked to specific organs, such as the liver, heart, and lungs, and can create imbalances that affect the entire system. For example, prolonged stress can stagnate Qi, leading to tension, digestive issues, and skin concerns. At the same time, our thoughts shape our reality; positive and clear intentions can promote healing and resilience, while negative or anxious thoughts can manifest as physical symptoms. By understanding and aligning the mind, body, and spirit, we can achieve a state of true balance and vibrant health.

Dr. Tan's Balance Method

A highly effective acupuncture technique that provides rapid pain relief using distal mirror points. Instead of needling directly at the pain site, this approach targets corresponding points along particular channels elsewhere on the body, creating a "meridian balancing" effect. This helps to rebalance Qi (vital energy) flow, often resulting in near “miraculous” instantaneous pain relief. This method is ideal for treating both acute and chronic pain while supporting the body’s natural healing processes

Acupuncture Modalities I Offer

Dr. Tan’s Global Balance 12 Magic Structure System is a holistic acupuncture method that targets specific meridian structures to support hormonal balance, emotional regulation, digestion, overall well-being and various other patterns of imbalance. It’s an effective approach for restoring harmony throughout the body.

Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture focuses on restoring balance by regulating the flow of Qi (vital energy) through meridians in the body. Using fine needles at specific points along these pathways, TCM acupuncture releases blockages, improves circulation, and stimulates natural healing. Each treatment is customized to address the root causes of imbalance, not just symptoms. TCM acupuncture is effective for a wide range of conditions, such as chronic pain, migraines, digestive issues, and anxiety, offering a natural, time-tested approach to holistic wellness.

Worsley 5 Element

Worsley 5 Element Acupuncture focuses on balancing the elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water, each tied to different aspects of our emotional and physical well-being. This method is especially effective for emotional issues like anxiety, stress, and mood swings, targeting specific points to restore inner balance. Every first-time patient receives a Worsley-style Aggressive Energy treatment to clear deep-seated imbalances, ensuring that future treatments are more effective and long-lasting.

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular acupuncture focuses on stimulating specific points on the ear that correspond to different parts of the body, offering effective relief for pain, stress, and a variety of health conditions. Each session includes the NADA protocol, also known as battlefield acupuncture, which is renowned for its ability to calm the nervous system and promote overall balance. I use the Auricupro device, which accurately reads imbalances through the ear and identifies areas that need attention. By incorporating Nogier frequencies, this approach deepens the healing process, allowing for precise, targeted treatments that address both physical and emotional concerns.

Scalp Acupuncture

Scalp acupuncture is a powerful technique that focuses on stimulating specific points on the scalp to influence brain function and support the nervous system. It is especially effective for conditions such as neurological disorders, migraines, stroke recovery, and chronic pain. By targeting areas on the scalp that correspond to different body functions, scalp acupuncture promotes improved circulation and nerve response, helping to restore movement, reduce pain, and enhance overall well-being. This method is ideal for those seeking to address deeper neurological issues while also benefiting from a calming, restorative treatment.

Exercise

A study in The Lancet found that just 15 minutes of daily moderate exercise can extend life expectancy by 3 years and reduce the risk of all-cause mortality by 14%. Exercise releases endorphins, reduces stress, and improves mood and sleep. These benefits are even greater when incorporating practices like Tai Chi and Qi Gong.

Breathwork

Breath is our primary source of energy, the key to regulating our nervous system, and has a profound impact on heart function. Learning to breathe properly can be truly life-changing, offering benefits that extend to every aspect of well-being. Additionally, specific breathwork techniques can shift states of consciousness in deeply transformative ways.

Meditation is a powerful practice for calming the nervous system, reducing stress, and easing anxiety. It sharpens focus and fosters emotional resilience, allowing for greater clarity in daily life. Regular meditation enhances self-awareness, cultivates inner peace, improves sleep, and boosts overall well-being. The transformative effects of consistent practice can be truly life-altering in the deepest possible ways

Meditation

My practice is where my expertise truly shines. I have been a professional Tai Chi and Qi Gong instructor, Breathwork facilitator, and Meditation guide for over 10 years, carefully cultivating a lifestyle that has empowered me on my own healing journey—one that I now share with others. My first formal training in Western Herbalism began in 2009 at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, providing a strong foundation for my Master's program in Oriental Medicine, where I learned to safely utilize the potent formulas of Chinese Herbalism. Before this, I created and ran a superfood smoothie shop in YBOR City for two years, blending my passion for natural health and nutrition. Later, I served as the official herbalist and supplement buyer at a health food store for three years. My path also led me to six years of study under Master Lao Zhi Chang of the Four Dragons Institute, where I received ordination in the “Awakening to Reality” lineage of Taoist thought and practice.
